Fitbit
This cool electronic gadget records body motion and calculates your fitness using graphs and charts.
The Fitbit records how many steps you take, stairs you climb, distance traveled and calories burned - and even collects information about how well you steep.
What you eat, how you exercise, and how well you sleep, are the metrics that are used and correlated to measure your fitness.
For example, because this device records your movements, you can find out if you were calm or restless while sleeping - when this occurred - for what duration - and how it may be related to other factors.
The Fitbit is a small device (about the size of a flash drive) that attaches to your clothing and uses a highly sensitive "3D" motion sensor, altimeter, and accelerometer to record your movements.
It connects via a Bluetooth Smart USB dongle to your computer or smartphone and the information is uploaded to your free account.
All the data is configured into statistics, graphs and charts that are display using a customizable dashboard so you can track your progress, cross reference information, spot trends and set goals.
You can also log additional information such as food consumption, height, weight.
The Fitbit is rechargeable and comes with a clip, USB dongle, charging cable, and sleep wristband.
